A “Day in the Life” with a Production Engineer
With some key objectives in mind, we have developed a set of building blocks. We believe an effective monitoring solution must have robust abilities that can do the following:
- Visualize, annotate and track complex time series sensors across devices and lift types
- Construct and configure meaningful, actionable dashboards and reports that drive to action
- Lift specific
- We are talking about oil and gas production, the monitoring system must natively know about artificial lift and its distinct device characteristics, for instance, dynacards or pump performance curves
- Mark sub-optimal or downtime events quickly and effectively
- Quickly search and filter for wells, and events
We asked Eric Clour, a Production Engineer working in Oklahoma, to shares some of his personal experience with us. We asked him specifically to tell us how these Unified Monitoring building blocks have enabled him to solve problems faster! Here were some of his very specific responses to using Production Unified Monitoring:
- I can create an event easily, and that automatically generates a task.
- Historical events are easily labeled.
- The Unified Monitor becomes the central repository of information and allows for the transfer of knowledge between team members.
- Challenges of finding historical well information are removed.
- I am able to attach associated well or event files, such as AFEs or Teardown reports, or workover procedures.
- All these things create workflow efficiencies and put minutes back into my day!
- The user interface is very user-friendly, doesn’t require much training.
- Move around quick – especially with 300 wells
- Overall, it is a huge time saver.
Eric clearly summarized some of the benefits of Unified Monitoring, starting with centralized surveillance. The platform scales across wells, fields, and teams allowing operators to share data across their entire enterprise. With a common view of information using a single tool, learning curves and training are accelerated. In addition to the lift specific visualizations and analytic solutions, it creates workflow and tasking efficiencies to improve oilfield operations.
Being a central repository of information, Unified Monitoring empowers operators and engineers to spend less time finding problems, and more time solving the most complex of them.
