Your Role at OspreyData: Customer Engagement Manager
Brief description of your training, education, experience:
Jon earned his Petroleum Engineering degree from Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO. He has since held various engineering roles for both large and small independent oil and gas producers, both onshore and offshore. Jon has extensive experience in production and artificial-lift optimization, reserve management, economic forecasting and budgeting, asset evaluation, reservoir stimulation, wellbore intervention and drilling implementation, regulatory compliance and wellsite supervision.
Jon collaborates on-site with clients, business development, and data science teams to ensure the successful development, validation, and adoption of algorithms and data science techniques to optimize oil and gas production and identify anomalies in free-flowing and artificially-lifted (plunger, ESP, gas-lift) wells. With his subject matter expertise and strong critical thinking skills, Jon ensures Osprey’s analytical insights and solutions are applicable to the field.
How long have you been with OspreyData?: I have been contracting with Osprey since July 2019 and came on full time in November 2019.
What’s your favorite thing about working at OspreyData?: Being a small company, I get to wear a lot of hats. Everything from facilitating our marketing efforts to sharing my industry insights with our science team. My favorite thing about Osprey though is working alongside smart and talented people and helping our clients solve challenging problems.
What are 3 words you’d use to describe OspreyData?: Engaging, challenging, rewarding
What is your favorite hobby or hobbies?: I enjoy hiking and riding my bike.
What does a perfect day look like for you?: A long road trip along a rugged coast
If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?: Japan
