Your Role at OspreyData: Data Scientist
Brief description of your training, education, experience:
Nhan obtained his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas. During his graduate study, Nhan’s research focus was on studying transient effects on slug flow hydrodynamics in pipeline systems.
Before starting to work at OspreyData, Nhan had interned with several Oil and Gas companies where he gained experience in field production optimization using simulation modeling techniques. He has experience doing production optimization across multiple well lift types. Currently, Nhan is a Data Scientist at OspreyData and he helps to build optimization methodologies for different artificial lift types using Machine Learning/ AI models that are trained on both human-labeled data and synthetic data.

What’s your favorite thing about working at OspreyData?: My favorite thing working here is that I am constantly surrounded by really smart colleagues who are passionate about what they are doing.
What are 3 words you’d use to describe OspreyData?: Creative, Innovative, and Disruptive
What is your favorite hobby or hobbies?: I enjoy listening to podcasts on different topics while jogging. I also love to travel around.
What does a perfect day look like for you?: Whenever I wake up in the morning and realize that I have families and friends who always look after me and I am able to do what I love, it’s a perfect day.
What is your favorite book?: “The Rosie Project” by Graeme Simsion
